UNIFORM ENFORCEMENT POLICY

  1. Student will be given a warning upon his/her first uniform violation.

  2. Upon the second uniform violation the following discipline measures will go into effect:
    1. If on Block A, the 1st period teacher will issue the student an Administrative Detention, if on Block B it will be the 2nd period teacher’s responsibility to issue the detention.
    2. WHAT IS AN ADMINISTRATIVE DETENTION? – A detention that is issued by a teacher but enforced by the Administration. Administrative Detentions are held after school Monday – Thursday from 2:30 – 3:30.
    3. WHAT ARE ADMINISTRATIVE DETENTIONS WRITTEN ON? - MDCPS Referral Forms.
    4. On the Referral form teachers will specify the words: “DETENTION – UNIFORM VIOLATION” and the DATE the student will serve the detention in the Summary portion of the Referral form
    5. WHAT DATE SHOULD THE TEACHER PICK FOR THE STUDENT TO SERVE THE DETENTION? – The next school day.

  3. Once the teacher has written the detention on the Referral Form the teacher shall issue the student the pink copy of the Referral Form and turn in the remainder of the Referral Form to the Administration before the end of the same school day.

  4. WHAT HAPPENS IF THE STUDENT IS A “NO SHOW” TO HIS/HER ADMINISTRATIVE DETENTION? – The student will be called down by the administration and be issued 1 -2 days of SCSI.

  5. Once 3 detentions have been issued to a student for a UNIFORM VIOLATION please start writing referrals that state “EXCESSIVE UNIFORM VIOLATIONS” so that the Administration can use Progressive Discipline and assign the student immediately to SCSI.
